ESP32-C6 GPIO8

Everything you need to use this pin correctly: status, alternate functions, boot-time cautions and working code.

Alternate functionsStrapping (boot mode)
ChipESP32-C6 pinout
Watch out:
  • Strapping pin: its level is latched at power-up to configure boot behaviour. Do not attach anything that changes its reset state.

Practical notes

Strapping pin that, with GPIO9, selects the boot mode and controls whether ROM logs print to UART. It floats by default; in production follow Espressif’s recommended fixed pull resistors.

Sample code

// Arduino
const int PIN = 8;

void setup() {
  pinMode(PIN, OUTPUT);
}

void loop() {
  digitalWrite(PIN, HIGH);
  delay(500);
  digitalWrite(PIN, LOW);
  delay(500);
}
